Bamberg é uma pequena cidade na região da Bavária, no sul da Alemanha. O seu centro da cidade é património mundial da UNESCO e as suas cervejas são tão ou mais conhecidas, e antigas, que a sua história. Nós estivemos lá em Junho passado, quando a cidade está cheia de esplanadas e os jardins da cerveja (biergarten no original) estão abertos.
Bamberg is a wonderful little town in Bavaria, south of Germany. Its city center is listed as an UNESCO world heritage site and its local beer is as known as, and as old as its history. We were there last June, when the city was full of beer gardens and all cafes have sitting outside.

Entrada para Schlenkerla, umas das cervejarias mais antigas e famosas de Bamberg. Tem vários tipos de cerveja e a mais tradicional é a cerveja preta. Uma cerveja forte em sabor e um pouco amarga, que nem toda a gente gosta à primeira, mas que eu adorei desde o primeiro gole. Provavelmente a melhor cerveja que já provei.
Entrance to Schlenkerla, the oldest and probably the most famous brewery in Bamberg. There is produced several types of beer and the most traditional is the dark one. It's a beer with an intense flavour and a little bitter, and not everybody likes it at first, but I did since my very first sip. It was probably the best beer I have ever tried.

Recomendo uma visita a Bamberg, que é perfeito para visitar num fim de semana, de preferência na Primavera ou no Verão. Felizmente, uma viagem de trabalho vai levar-me de volta a esta região. Daqui a cerca de um mês vou outra vez a Bamberg e mal posso esperar para apreciar outra vez uma cerveja preta no Schlenkerla.
Bamberg makes a wonderful weekend trip, preferably in the spring/summer. Luckily, work is taking me to this region again. In about a month, I'll go again to Bamberg and I'm looking forward to enjoying another dark beer at Schlenkerla.
