Saint Petersburg - the surroundings

São Petersburgo, tal como Moscovo, tem imensos monumentos e locais interessantes não só no centro, mas também nos arredores da cidade. Infelizmente tivemos apenas 2 dias para visitar a cidade e não foi o suficiente para ver tudo, como por exemplo o fantástico Palácio de Peterhof e a sua catedral, que ficam um pouco mais afastados do grande centro. Ainda assim vimos imenso da cidade como vos mostram as fotos em baixo. 

Saint Petersburg, as Moscow, has numerous interesting monuments and remarkable places, not only in the city centre, but in the surroundings as well. Unfortunately, we only had 2 days to visit the city and it was not enough to see everything we wanted, such as the superb Peterhof Palace and its Cathedral, located outside of St. Petersburg. Still, we could see a lot as and I will show you some photos below.

A Fortaleza de São Pedro e São Paulo é o complexo de edifícios que deu origem à cidade de São Petersburgo, fundado em 1703 por Pedro, o Grande. A Fortaleza contém vários edifícios notáveis, dos quais se destaca a Catedral de São Pedro e São Paulo (edifício amarelo na foto), que tem a torre do sino mais alta da cidade (122m). Num dos lados do forte está uma praia fluvial, muito conveniente no calor do Verão.

Peter and Paul Fortress is the original citadel of St. Petersburg, founded by Peter the Great in 1703. The fortress contains several remarkable buildings, including the Peter and Paul Cathedral (yellow building in the picture below), with the tallest bell-tower of the city (122m). On the river side of the fortress there is a beach, very convenient to cool down in the summer heat.

Igreja da Dormição da Mãe de Deus, uma igreja ortodoxa com cúpulas lindíssimas. Infelizmente, estava em obras por dentro e não a pusemos visitar.

Church of Dormition of the Mother of God, an orthodox church with beautiful domes. Unfortunately, it was close to visitants due to constructions works.

Estádio Petrovsky, que pertence ao FC Zenit,  que ainda este ano jogou com o Benfica.

E foi assim que terminou a nossa viagem à Russia. Uma viagem cheia de aventuras e passeios históricos sem conta. Espero que tenham gostado.
