Saint Petersburg - the center

We got to Saint Petersburg in the morning, after a comfy night spent on the Grand Express train, and we were ready to go sightseeing. Saint Petersburg is somehow more popular in the touristic world than Moscow. You hear of the grand buildings, of the beautiful Church of the Savior on Spilt Blood, and of the river that crosses the city. Unfortunately for me, after visiting Moscow, Saint Petersburg was an inferior experience. The buildings are smaller and in less quantity, the city is smaller and the main streets are crowded with tourists. At every corner one can find people selling tours and boat/tuc tuc/carriage trips, and there's numerous souvenirs shops. Until today I wonder if Moscow was actually the same, but since it's a much bigger city everything is more spread out, or if Saint Petersburg is really more popular due to the easier access through the port of cruise-ships.

Although, everything I just described is only related to my general experience in Russia. Saint Petersburg is a beautiful city and it is worth a visit. Besides that, each person experiments each place differently and I will show you what I saw in Saint Petersburg so you can have a taste of it.

Palácio de Inverno / The Winter Palace

A Praça do Palácio é imponente e magnífica.

It was here the famous "storming of the Winter Palace" took place, an act at the beginning of the Russian Revolution, which ended the Tsarist aristocracy. The palace is located between the river and the Palace Square. The palace Square is massive and magnificent.

How about some rest after a long day of sightseeing?
