Brännö - Gothenburg's archipelago

Gothenburg's archipelago has thousands of islands, of all sizes, shapes and landscapes. It is divided in the northern and southern archipelago and both of them are very popular day trips destinations in the summer. Brännö is one of the closest islands to the city, which makes it fast and easy to get there. It has about 700 inhabitants, probably more in the summer than in the winter. It's a great place to hike, bathe, eat a picnic and enjoy a sunny day. Just like the one when we went there last September. 

O arquipélago de Gotemburgo tem milhares de ilhas, de todos os tamanhos, formas e paisagens. Está dividido no arquipélago norte e sul e ambos são destinos bastante populares no verão. Brännö é uma das ilhas mais próximas da cidade, o que faz com que seja rápido e fácil chegar lá. Tem cerca de 700 habitantes, provavelmente mais no verão do que no inverno, e é um ótimo lugar para caminhar, comer um piquenique e aproveitar um dia cheio de sol, como quando nós lá fomos em setembro do ano passado.

The small town is spread on a part of the island, between small marinas, ports, bathing piers and rocks. Brännö Brygga is the most famous spot in Brännö, because it features in a very popular Swedish song of Lasse Dahlquist, from 1941.

A pequena cidade está espalhada por uma parte da ilha, entre pequenas marinas, portos, pontões e rochedos. Brännö Brygga é o local mais famoso de Brännö, por causa da letra de uma canção sueca muito popular de Lasse Dahlquist, de 1941.

There's also a beautiful foot stone bridge, Türks bro, between Brännö and Galterö. Galterö is partly a nature reserve and partly a military area. One can also say that Galterö is a giant grassy field where sheep roam freely. 

Há também uma pequena ponte pedestre, Türks bro, entre Brännö e Galterö. Galterö é parcialmente uma reserva natural e parcialmente uma área militar. Pode dizer-se também que Galterö é um gigantesco campo de erva onde as ovelhas andam livremente.

After exploring both Brännö and Galterö we enjoyed a beer in a bar built in a shipyard. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of all the half boats, tools and scrap laying around just outside the bar, because the bar was literally in the middle of the shipyard. It had a great view as well!

More islands in this archipelago will certainly be explored in a few months when the summer is back in Sweden. 

Depois de explorar Brännö e Galterö, fomos beber uma cerveja num bar construído num estaleiro. Infelizmente não tirei uma foto de todos os barcos, ferramentas e sucata que estavam ao pé do bar, porque o bar fica literalmente no meio do estaleiro. Mas tinha uma vista fantástica!

Mais ilhas neste arquipélago serão certamente exploradas daqui a uns meses, quando o verão estiver de volta à Suécia.
