Learning Swedish #2

This one actually happen over a year ago, but I thought I would share it now anyway. Nowadays, counting is the part I'm better at.

Sara- I remember the numbers. I can count to 10 in Swedish.
Johan- Ok, show me.
Sara- Ett... tva... tre... funf...
Johan- Sara... funf is five... in German!

How did I know a number in German? I have no idea...

Sara- Ett... tva... tre... funf...

  1. Hopefully by now you know the numbers in Swedish.
Sometimes I think we hear/learn certain words in films, conversations and these things stay with us and then one day we "speak" them in the wrong context, because they look right.

    1. I learn the numbers in Swedish long ago, but now I can tell them without thinking for 5 minutes before each.
I agree with you, some words stay in a corner in our brain and we don't even notice they are there until one day they come out.

  2. It is amazing how our sub-conscious mind is always 'aware' and picking up things we might not think we know...
