3 weeks in review

And three weeks went by since my last post. So what happened in the meantime?

I had tonsillitis and barely left home for 5 days. Since I missed work, the following week I decided to make up for it. I was starting a new project and I wanted to make up for my time off. Somehow the new project brought back my motivation, that I had lost long time ago. I don't really like to make too personal posts, but the truth is it has been a hard year for me professionally, because I felt I was in the wrong job, dealing with the wrong people and it was hard to put my heart in what I was doing.
Suddenly, things changed! Slowly, I started enjoying doing my tasks and I had fun as well!

Now, I don't know if it was my higher motivation or simply the fact that positive thinking brings good things, but at the end of these two crazy work weeks I got some benefits.

1. For the first time in more than a year of work I got a compliment from my boss in our weekly meeting! I think it was actually the first time he gave a compliment to someone at all! The best was not even his words but the way his eyes were shining as I was presenting the results of the new project. It was priceless.

2. Due to some bureaucracy problems our colleague was not allowed to go on a work trip and we learned recently that our boss will send me and J. instead. We will spend 2 weeks at MIT, in Boston.

3. Friday evening I come home to find a post office notice to pick up a package. I was not waiting for anything, so I ran to the post office full of curiosity. It was a package from one of my favourite bloguers, LaLaLane, all the way from US. She is also a runner and she heard I have never tried energy gels, so she decided to surprise me and send me some. It was a great way to end the week!

Think positive! Positive brings good and good feels... good!
Have a great weekend!

  2. Hi Sara, So glad you received your gels. I can't wait to hear how you like them...... Hope you enjoy your trip to Boston. Lot's of rich history there. Of course, I've never been. But maybe you'll get to run part of the route that the Boston Marathon is held on. Wouldn't that be something? I haven't run for 2 weeks....broken toe. Soup was wonderful! Thanks again for the recipe book. Look forward to pictures of your trip. Thanks for the email.....have a great weekend. ~Laurie
